The Daily Freeman Journal

Webster City Community Theatre will open its next production - "The Dixie Swim Club" - on Feb. 7.

The production will be presented Feb. 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 9 and 16 at 2 p.m.

The cast includes Stephanie Hill as Sheree Hollinger; Kayleen Kehoe as Lexie Richards; Cathy Olson as Dinah Grayson; Loween Getter as Vernadette Simms; and Linda Conaway as Jeri Neal McFeeley.

The production, written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, is a comedy about friendships that last forever. It's about five Southern women, whose friendship began many years ago on their college swim team. Since graduation, they have set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other's lives. "The Dixie Swim Club" focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of 33 years.

The production, directed by Angela Rottering, with assistance from Sue Heerema, will be presented.

Tickets are $10 each and will go on sale Feb. 1 at the box office.
