Woolstock Community Hall will be the site of a birthday celebration on Sunday for a famous native son.
Actor and humanitarian George Reeves was born George Keefer Brewer on Jan. 5, 1914 in Woolstock. Reeves went on to gain fame as an actor, starring in the 1950s "The Adventures of Superman" television program. The actor also was featured in a number of motion picture roles, including "Gone with the Wind," "From Here to Eternity" and "So Proudly We Hail."
The party was originally scheduled for Jan. 5 but due to the extremely cold temperatures, organizers decided to postpone the event for a week.
The party will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Woolstock Community Hall. Cake and ice cream will be served and a gift drawing will be held, according to organizers. Party favors will also be available. Short films and other vierings are also planned for the party.
There is no admission charge to attend the event.
