No. 7 Dunkerton races by Trojans

The Daily Freeman Journal

BLAIRSBURG - Six-foot-11 Drake recruit Kory Kuenstling put up 26 points and No. 7-ranked (Class 1A) Dunkerton gradually pulled away from Northeast Hamilton for a 62-34 Iowa Star Conference victory here last night.

But, surprisingly, it wasn't Kuenstling inside the paint that caused the majority of the problems for the Trojans (2-3, 2-2 ISC).

"We knew that kid was big and good, but I was very impressed with their guards," NEH head coach John Seiser said. "They trap you all over the floor and they eventually just ware you out."

Northeast Hamilton senior forward Logan Seiser looks to score from the perimeter against Dunkerton last night in Blairsburg. He scored 11 points in a 62-34 loss.

Still, Seiser didn't walk away totally dejected.

"In our defense, we did a lot of things well (last night)," he said. "We did some things that frustrated them for a while."

NEH senior forward Logan Seiser made just one field goal going up against Kuenstling, but he knocked down nine free throws to finish with 11 points to go along with 11 rebounds, three blocks and two assists. Nick Jeffers added eight points, while Tyler Smith and Austin Smith both chipped in six points.
