There's still time to catch a performance of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" at Webster City Community Theatre this weekend.

Performances are set for Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. To reserve seats, call 832-4456, or stop by the box office, which is open one hour before performances.

The Herdsman's are the meanest kids around. They lie, steal, cuss, and smoke cigars - even the girls. The last place anyone expected to see them was in church. So when the Herdsman's storm Sunday school and take over the annual Christmas pageant, everyone braces for the worst.

Grace Bradley (played by Charity Hayes, right) explains the Christmas story from the Bible to the Herdman children in a scene from Webster City Community Theatre’s “Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” Also pictured are Mikey Paisley as Ralph Herdman, Dylan McCoskey as Claude Herdman and Kaitlyn Wagner as Imogene Herdman.

But no one is prepared for what really happens when the rottenest kids in the world take over the greatest story ever told.

That's the premise of the WCCT production. This marks the fourth time the play has been presented by the local theater troup. It was previously performed in 1995, 1998 and 2006.

Al Yungclas is the director. Donna Foster serves as assistant director and Karin Yungclas is the producer.
