CEDAR RAPIDS - Allison Bailey of Webster City was the assistant stage manager in the recent Coe College theatre production of "Blithe Spirit." Bailey, the daughter of Kent and Milissa Bailey, is a 2013 graduate of Webster City Community School.
"Blithe Spirit" is written by Noel Coward and directed by Peter Craze, guest director from the London Drama Studio. One of Noel Coward's most popular comedies, "Blithe Spirit" explores what might happen if a man's deceased wife returns from the grave to haunt his second marriage. Filled with erudite and witty banter, ghosts and apparitions, this delightful gem from 1941 once held the record for the longest running non-musical in London with 1,997 performances.
Productions of "Blithe Spirit" ran at Coe in mid-November with all performances taking place in Dows Theatre. Coe's Department of Theatre Arts will end the 2013-14 theatre season with the musical "City of Angels" in March.
