Trojets drop 3 matches at Dunkerton Invitational

September 30, 2013
The Daily Freeman Journal

DUNKERTON - Competing without Lillian Chamness - one of its most versatile players - the Northeast Hamilton volleyball team was unable to sneak out a victory at Saturday's Dunkerton Invitational.

The Trojets dropped matches to Turkey Valley (21-11, 21-6), Clarksville (13-21, 23-15, 15-10) and No. 2-ranked (Class 1A) Janesville (21-5, 21-9).

Tiffany Moore took over Chamness' setting duties and dished out a team-high 14 assists, but the Trojets (5-16) also missed Chamness' abilities at net.

"We did miss the offensive threat that Lillian can provide in the front row," NEH head coach Kacey Pruismann said. "We could have played better overall, but I wasn't too upset."

Andi Anderson slapped 12 kills on the day, seven more than Leah Meyer.

Libero Jaidyn Timm was the defensive catalyst with 16 digs. Taylor Olson came up with 11, while Anderson and Moore both chipped in seven.
