Trojets drop ISC match to Regents, rebound to whip Panthers

September 20, 2013
The Daily Freeman Journal

BLAIRSBURG - Northeast Hamilton dropped an Iowa Star Conference match to Waterloo Christian, but salvaged the night by returning to the court later and dominating Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne in a non-conference contest here last night.

Waterloo Christian (4-5, 1-2 ISC) rallied from a deficit late in the opening set to claim the win and it propelled the Regents to a three-set sweep, 25-22, 25-18, 25-13.

"We had that first (set) won, but we let them claw back at the end and that killed our spirits," NEH head coach Kacey Pruismann said. "Our girls have to learn from that. They played scared to lose, slow and timid."

Sophomore Andi Anderson did her part - and then some - by blasting 10 of the Trojets' 17 kills in the loss. She also had six digs.

Kaylee Massman delivered eight assists and digs, as well as two kills. Taylor Olson and Jaidyn Timm both collected six digs.

NEH (4-13, 1-2 ISC) wasted little time in disposing of the winless Panthers (0-10) in the nightcap by scores of 25-12, 25-8. After cruising in the opening set, the Trojets scored 18 of the first 19 points in Set No. 2.
