STANHOPE The Stanhope City Council voted to change the date and time of their monthly meetings when they met in regular session on Monday evening.
Starting in October, meetings will be held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Stanhope community center.
Other business at the meeting included setting the date and time for Halloween trick or treat in Stanhope for Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. The council authorized the use of the lower level of the Stanhope community building that evening as well, during the same hours.
Along with public works superintendent Tad Stupp, the council reviewed a revised bid from Fort Dodge Asphalt Company for street repairs throughout the city. At the August council meeting, Stupp had a bid from the company for $5,800, plus an additional amount not to exceed $2,000 for additional work. The revised bid of $9,025 was approved by the council.
Also on Monday, the council appointed Jackie Baker of Stanhope to the Stanhope Library Board of Directors. She fills the unexpired term of Jon Hanson, with the term to expire June 30, 2015.
In other business, the council voted to concur with the local volunteer fire department that the maximum number of occupants for the property at 435 Parker Street shall be 75 persons.
The council also reaffirmed a resolution between the city of Stanhoype and Heartland Consumers Power District of Madison, SD to purchase wholesale electricity beginning January 1, 2014 through January 31, 2023.
Another resolution was passed approving the city's portion of the Hamilton County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.
