FORT DOGE - The 11th-ranked Webster City volleyball team showcased all of its offensive weapons here last night and the result was a three-set clinic against Fort Dodge St. Edmond in the North Central Conference opener for both teams.
The Lynx (7-2, 1-0 NCC) hit .364 as a team - highlighted by big nights from Molly Gilbert and Kaylee Schnathorst, who hit .750 and .600, respectively - in their 25-11, 25-15, 25-11 rout.
Six attackers combined for 39 kills. Schnathorst smacked a match-high 12 and Gilbert pounded nine on just 12 swings. Morgan Gourley and Hannah Myers both walloped seven.
"We were able to stay aggressive throughout the match and didn't let them run their offense a whole lot," WCHS head coach Jess Howard said. "We got a lot of free balls from them and that allowed us to really set up and attack.
"We are starting to get a balanced offense and that's largely due to our setters mixing it up and identifying who's open and who's on at that time."
Senior setter Ashley Price made all the right decisions and doled out 24 assists. Gianna Gourley chalked up 10.
