The Daily Freeman Journal

The annual Coats for Kids project in Hamilton County is now underway.

Upper Des Moines Opportunity Inc., located in the All Cultures Equal building, will take applications for coats now through Sept. 19. Parents can sign up children in need of coats this year. Low-income children in Hamilton County, ages infant through 18, are eligible.

Local residents wishing to purchase and donate a coat for the program can stop by Mornin' Glory Coffee Shop to pick up coat tag starting Sept. 16. New or gently used coats can be dropped off to the UDMO office located in the Ace Building no later than Oct. 2.

Monetary donations can be sent to UDMO, 1440 East Second St., Webster City, IA 50595.
