James Richard Gardner, age 58, of Kahoka, MO, died Friday, August 9, 2013 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA.
Jim was born March 23, 1955 in Keokuk, IA, a son of Donald Richard and Delora Alderton Gardner.
Survivors include his mother, Delora, of Kahoka, MO; two brothers, Dan Gardner of Grimes, IA and Scott (Angie) Gardner of Des Moines, IA; two sisters, Terry (Mike) Reed of Grimes, IA and Pat (Mike) Inman of Ottumwa, IA; nieces and nephews and their families: Damien (Kelly) Verwers of DeSota, IA, Valorie (David) Peitzman and Katie Reed of Grimes, IA, Matt (Leah) Inman of Faribault, MN, James Inman of Fargo, ND, Brian (Dee) Inman of Sigourney, IA, and, April and Ashley Gardner and Cody Kennard, all of Des Moines, IA.
Jim graduated from high school in Webster City and from Iowa Central Community College.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving four years at Camp David during the Ford and Carter administrations and in the reserves for a number of years. He was very active in the American Legion and V.F.W. at Webster City. He was a former Boy Scout leader and former employee of the Webster City Parks and Recreation
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Peaksville (Missouri) Christian Church
Visitation is Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO.
Memorials are suggested to Mercy Hospice or the Peaksville Christian Church.
