Sarah Thompson, Radcliffe, has been named the new executive director of Hamilton County S.E.E.D. She began her duties Monday.

Thompson succeeds Catherine Bergman of Stratford who resigned earlier this summer to become the director of the Early Learning Center in Stratford. Bergman served 11 years with the SEED office.

Thompson comes to Hamilton County from the Iowa Falls where she worked for the Chamber of Commerce/Main Street program. Prior to that, she worked for Main Street Lansing and the Story City Greater Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa.

Thompson said she's spending this week familiarizing herself with the office, files and projects of the SEED office. She said the Main Street program can be very beneficial to a small community especially when it comes to building restoration which can add to the appeal of the town.

Thompson said she looked forward to getting to know people and organizations around Hamilton County.

Her office is located in the Hamilton County Conservation building at the entrance to Briggs Woods park.
