Students and parents or guardians new to the Webster City School District are invited to an orientation session at Webster City Middle School set for Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Those new to St. Thomas Aquinas and Stratford are also invited to the orientation, which will include an opportunity to meet with counselors, administrators and have a tour of the building. There will also be time to discuss basic procedures of the middle school and time to ask questions.
For those not new to the district but having a student enter seventh grade, a meeting will be held at WCMS on Aug. 15 at 5:30 p.m.
At the meeting, Mrs. Reis will discuss the Human Growth and Development cirriculum that will be used in each child's Life Management exploratory class this year.
In addition, all students and parents or guardians are invited to an open house at WCMS. For grades five through eight, the open house will be on Aug. 19. In grades six and seven, students with last names beginning with A-K are scheduled for 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., and studnets with last names beginning with L-Z at 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
For studnets in grades five and eight, students with last names beginning with A-K are scheduled for the open house at 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Students in those grades with last names beginning with L-Z are scheduled for 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.
During the open house, students will have the chance to meet their teachers, visit their classrooms, get locker assignments and more. Students are also asked to bring their school supplies with them to the open house.
