The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the Wine on Nine Chamber Golf Open on Friday at Briggs Woods Golf Course.
Sixty area players showed up for a good day of golf and a lot of fun. The day started with the Cherry Picker Ball Drop. 250 balls were dropped from a cherry picker provided by the City of Webster City. The closest ball to the target belonged to Russ Fister. The Ladies Golf Club was responsible for manning the holes with wine and for serving. Live music was performed by Bill Robb and Tyler Abens.
Thirty teams participated in this two person best shot event. Winners are the second flight, sponsored by TMI/Tile Pros, are:
Evan and Mindy Mossman participated in the Chamber of Commerce sponsored Wine on Nine event at Briggs Woods Golf Course on Friday.
1st place Phil Queen and Eric McKinley with a score of 35 and winning the tie breaker
2nd place Chuck Bonjour and Jeff Lyons with a score of 35.
Winners of the first flight, sponsored by Hy-Vee, are:
1st place Tyler Abens and Chris Beur with a score of 30 and winning the tie breaker;
2nd place Mike Sherwood and Dennis Bahr with a score of 30.
Abens and Beur also bring home the traveling trophy.
Marvin Moss won the longest putt on Hole #1 sponsored by Webster City Federal.
Troy Banning was closest in two shots on Hole #2 sponsored by Iowa Central Community College.
Cory Bargfrede was closest to the shopping cart on Hole #4 sponsored by Fareway.
Cory Cumming had the longest drive with a non-dominant hand on Hole #5 sponsored by Webster City Custom Meats.
Michelle Bell had the longest putt on Hole #5 sponsored by Geary Meyer, Councilman.
Denise Helmick was closest to the pin on Hole #7 sponsored by Abens Realty.
Marty Sego had the longest drive on Hole #8 sponsored by Apple Golf.
Dave Jakeman chipped a ball into the outhouse hole on Hole #9 sponsored by TMI.
Roger Lyons made the best putt with 2 foot putter on the Practice Green sponsored by Lamperts.
