Temperature on the rise

July 9, 2013
The Daily Freeman Journal
The temperature sign at Webster City Federal Savings Bank registered 102 degrees at about 4 p.m. Monday, perhaps a little hotter than the actual reading, but not by much.
Temperatures reached the mid-to-upper-90s across Hamilton County and thunderstorms were predicted for parts of north central Iowa after midnight.
Tuesday looks to be another hot, humid July day, according to the National Weather Service. Highs are expected to reach into the lower 90s with a heat index reading of 100 to 103 degrees in the afternoon through evening.
Today will also bring a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Cooler temperatures are expected on Wednesday with highs expected in the lower 80s along with clear skies.
