Wedeking whiffs 16 Trojets, No. 4 Clarksville rolls in ISC game

CLARKSVILLE - Kimberly Wedeking threw a no-hitter and struck out 16 batters in No. 4-ranked (Class 1A) Clarksville's 8-0 Iowa Star Conference win over Northeast Hamilton on Friday.

The Indians pounced early with three runs in the first inning and finished with nine hits off Trojets' pitcher Molly Greenfield. Seven of the hits - five doubles and two triples - went for extra bases.

COLLINS - NEH dropped decisions to Collins-Maxwell-Baxter, 4-3, and Montezuma, 4-1, here on Saturday during the CMB Invite.

Eight players recorded one hit in the loss to CMB. Leah Meyer belted a double and drove in a run. Jenn Willems also collected an RBI.

Molly Greenfield blasted two doubles and Meyer had one against Montezuma. Andi Anderson added a pair of singles.

NEH (6-14) will be at Dunkerton today.

TROJANS CLIPPED 1-0: Clarksville scratched out one run in the bottom of the fourth inning on its home field Friday evening, and that's all the Indians needed in a 1-0 Iowa Star Conference win over Northeast Hamilton.

Gabe Rapp penned a four-hitter on the mound in the loss for the Trojans (4-8, 4-6 ISC). Stephen Chamness, Hunter Dilley and Tyler Smith all singled.
