WEBSTER CITY - Mikaleh McCoy couldn't let her power-packed teammates have all the fun.
She wanted to show off her trot around the bases as well.
McCoy, a sophomore, took a full-count fastball over the left-field fence for a sixth-inning solo home run against Boone last night at Lynx Field. The long ball broke a 5-all tie and sent WCHS on to a 6-5 victory over the Toreadors.

Kaylee Schnathorst (center) brings her teammates out of the dugout following her two-run home run against Boone last night. It was her fourth of the season.
"I guess I kind of got lucky with it," McCoy said about the marathon at bat that included four foul balls before she finally turned on a pitch and sent it just inside the foul pole down the line for her second homer of the season. "It hit my bat in the right spot and it just went."
WCHS (12-4) hit two more long balls in the game, upping its season total to 14. Kaylee Schnathorst belted a two-run shot to left-center in the second inning to give the Lynx a 4-0 lead at the time. It was her fourth tater of the season and second on the day; she also went yard in a win over Hampton-Dumont earlier.
"We're really excited because we work on (hitting) constantly," McCoy said. "To have our abilities show through feels pretty great."

Tiffany Constable gave the Lynx a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first with a shot to left-center for an RBI double.
Just prior to Schnathorst's dinger, Allie Flaws made it 2-0 with an RBI infield single; Hannah Myers raced all the way around to score from second on the squibber up the middle.
Boone (8-9) caught fire offensively in the fourth inning with five runs to take the lead briefly. The Toreadors roped three of their eight hits in the frame, including a two-RBI base hit by Laura Anderson that ricocheted off the leg of Lynx pitcher Kaitlyn Biere and a two-RBI triple to right off the bat of Linsey Schminke.
WCHS tied the game at 5 in the bottom of the inning on a two-out RBI blooper to center by Schnathorst.
Boone threatened to bust the game open in the top of the fifth, as the Toreadors ripped three straight hits to load the bases with one out. Anderson then sent a shot to deep center that Schnathorst somehow made an over-the-shoulder grab on; Boone base runner Tacie Blunk didn't tag up and she was unable to score.
Biere worked out of the jam by getting Bailey Schminke to strike out to end the inning.
"They were able to attack Biere, but we had some tremendous defensive plays that helped her out a little bit," Howard said. "It didn't look like (Schnathorst) would be able to get to the ball and that's why you tag up every time. That helped us out tremendously."
Biere gave up eight hits and all five Boone runs were earned. She struck out four en route to her 12th win of the season and 85th of her career.
Myers also had a stellar game at shortstop with eight defensive assists. She gunned down Carrie Overland at third to end the sixth inning.
"Hannah's starting to make the hard plays look like routine plays and that's what we need out of our shortstop," Howard said.
