Relay quilt

June 12, 2013
The Daily Freeman Journal
Quilters from Van Diest Medical Center put their talents to work to make this quilt to support Hamilton County Relay for Life. The quilt, which is on display in the cafeteria at Van Diest Medical Center, will go to the highest bidder of a silent auction which continues through June 20 at noon. Incremental bids require a $10 minimum bid. All proceeds from the Quilt Silent Auction will support the Van Diest Medical Center Relay for Life Team. Quilters from VDMC include: Connie Sturtz, Pam Henderson, Brenda Reinsch, Jean Gallogly, Alice Heinrichs, and Gale Herrera. Additional contributors include: Julia Jones, Jean McLaughlin, and Reyna Evans. This year’s event is scheduled to take place Friday, June 28, in Jewell at the High School Track beginning at 5:30 p.m. Pictured above are (left) Gale Herrera, organizer of the quilt project, and (right) Joyce Gelhaus, Team Captain for the VDMC Relay for Life Team.
