WILLIAMS - Northeast Hamilton seniors Jennifer Jeffers, Molly Greenfield and Jenn Willems couldn't disguise their smiles here yesterday evening.

They'd been on the softball diamond against South Hamilton before and the end product wasn't pretty. So to turn the tables was priceless.

All three seniors notched at least one hit, as they helped propel the Trojets to a 4-2 victory over their Hamilton County rival.

"I could tell on the three seniors' faces that they were ecstatic to win," an equally happy Natalie Ostheimer, Northeast Hamilton's head coach, said after her club put an end to its six-game losing streak. "This is a dramatic win ... I think this is the starting block for us right here."

NEH (2-7) pulled the upset by slapping nine hits off South Hamilton pitchers Brittany Nicholson and Ady Wintermote. Conversely, Greenfield kept the Hawks stuck in neutral, as the right-hander allowed just four singles.

"We had a few errors, but we hit the ball and we played strong, and that's what I asked the girls to do," Ostheimer said.
