WILLIAMS - Coming up with key hits - or any hits, really - continued to be the bugaboo for the Northeast Hamilton softball team here last night.

The Trojets scratched out just three hits in a 2-1 non-conference loss to Eagle Grove.

"If we can't get a hit then we can't score runs, so we've just got to have stronger bats," NEH head coach Natalie Ostheimer said after her club fell to 1-7.

Eagle Grove (5-4) scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The Eagles lashed nine hits off Trojets' senior ace Molly Greenfield. Only one of the runs was earned.

Greenfield struck out four on the night.

Kim VanHouten drove in the Trojets' lone run on a base hit in the bottom of the fifth.
