WEBSTER CITY - The Webster City and Hampton-Dumont softball teams weren't able to beat the rain last night at Lynx Field.

The North Central Conference rivals were tied at 1 in the top of the third inning when play was suspended because of the rain. The umpires decided the field was too wet to continue when the rain subsided.

The game will resume where it left off next Tuesday at 4 p.m. WCHS is scheduled to play Boone in a non-conference contest later that night.
