Reader’s Theatre to preview local playwright’s work

June 4, 2013
The Daily Freeman Journal

On Sunday at 4:30 p.m., Webster City Community Theatre's Reader's Theatre takes a look at "House Guests Can Be Murder", written by Sally Evans, a WCCT member.

"House Guests" is the story of five elderly women (Bertha, Clara, Hazel, Elsie, and Millie) who decide to move in together after Bertha wins a sweepstakes and purchases a large old boarding house. Unfortunately, the paper incorrectly reports the amount of the winnings as $100,000 when it was really only $10,000. Enter "long-lost cousin" Wilhelmina Jergensen who raises the suspicion of neighbors Clarence and Jasper. Other interesting characters round out the cast to produce a little romance, a little murder, and a lot of laughs.

This will be the first play in the 2013-14 season for the Webster City Community Theatre.

Those attending are encouraged to bring a snack to share and their own beverage.
