FORT DODGE - The Webster City girls' tennis team pulled off one doubles victory here yesterday, but nothing else went the Lynx way in an 8-1 dual-meet loss to St. Edmond.
The Gaels also knocked off WCHS in a Class 1A team regional bout, 5-0, on Saturday.
The Lynx No. 3 doubles team of Allison Bailey and Olivia Tasler dominated Rachel Willerth and Yeuon Baek, 8-0, which allowed WCHS to avoid the shutout.
But St. Edmond dominated the other seven matches. The Gaels earned 8-0 triumphs in four of the six singles matches; Mary Eide, Ellen Chalstrom, Jasmine Myers and Madeline Baldwin earned the quick wins.
The Lynx Kelsey Bahrenfuss took three games off Claire Crimmins in a loss, while Lynne Chalfant claimed four games against Emilee Mobley.
The other WCHS doubles' teams - Cambria Hoffmann and Ariel Clabaugh, and Bahrenfuss and Chalfant - were 8-2 and 8-4 losers, respectively.
