IOWA FALLS - The Webster City girls' tennis team dropped all nine matches in a dual-meet loss to Iowa Falls-Alden here yesterday evening.
The Cadets controlled singles play and were only pushed in the No. 4 bout where Emily Knipfel held off Lynne Chalfant, 10-7.
Chalfant and Kelsey Bahrenfuss fell behind 6-1 early in their doubles' match against Brianna Keane and Knipfel before making a run. The Cadets eventually won 10-5.
"Lynne had a really nice night," WCHS head coach Heather Kierzek said. "She played really well in singles, and Kelsey and her made a nice run in doubles. They did a nice job at the end, but just ran out of time."
WCHS will be at home today to take on North Polk at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Lynx will travel to Fort Dodge for Class 1A team regionals; they'll open up against host Fort Dodge St. Edmond.
