ELDORA - The back-half of the singles lineup was dominant for the Webster City boys' tennis team here yesterday afternoon in a much-needed dual-meet victory over South Hardin.
Nos. 4, 5 and 6 singles players Andrew Straw, Avery Hopp and Dilan Griffin were all 8-0 winners, and the Lynx swept the three doubles matches en route to a 7-2 victory.
"I was impressed with our focus," WCHS head coach Matt Manson said. "We played like we were the better team and we hope to use that momentum going into districts (on Thursday)."
Straw blanked Christian Bercus. Hopp made quick work of John Prescott, and Griffin applied the pressure to Austin Lyrke.
Chris Pergande also had an easy time in singles, as he beat Dalton Miller, 8-1, in the No. 2 match.
Pergande teamed up with Christian Hippen in the top doubles bout and they took care of Miller and Micah Dorow, 8-2.
