WEBSTER CITY - It was a perfect day to golf - the temperature was in the mid-70s with little wind - for the 10 North Central Conference girls' golf teams competing for the league championship yesterday at the Webster City Links.
Despite several inches of snow that blanketed the area a few days earlier, the 1910 Warren Dickinson designed golf course was in excellent shape.
Defending Class 3A state champion Clear Lake won the team title with a 376. Bishop Garrigan, the reigning 1A state champion, took the second spot with a 381.
Malorie Fischels of Clear Lake was the conference medalist with an 83. The runner-up honor went to Alexa Capesius of Bishop Garrigan with an 85.
Webster City placed 10th with a 488.
Hannah Harfst, Shannon Swon and Megan Gilbert all carded rounds of 120 for the Lynx, with Mollie Tague coming off the course with a 128.
