To the Editor:
I am the Life Enrichment Coordinator at the Windsor Manor Assisted Living Community here in Webster City. I read the Freeman Journal daily and would like to say that I feel the article written on the WC Birthday Club was great. I am thankful the Seniors get to enjoy a such a gathering. However, one expert pie-maker was omitted from the article. My office is my Activity Room where we have a kitchenette for the residents to use.
Each Friday morning, I get to inhale the wonderful aromas of pies baking for the Birthday Club baked by resident, Marilyn Perin. She has baked pies for this group of seniors for many, many years and I feel she is also an expert pie-maker as well. I get to smell pies made of apple, lemon, cherry, blueberry, coconut, rhubarb, banana and many more mouth-watering aromas along with brownies, cakes, cookies and breads. So I would like to give credit where credit is due. Thank you Marilyn P. for the great pies you bake.
