BOONE - Relying heavily on its veteran middle distance runners, the Webster City boys' track team picked up points where it expected en route to a fourth-place finish at yesterday's Boone Classic.
The Lynx claimed three gold medals courtesy of the 4x100-, 4x800- and 1,600-meter medley relays, as well six runner-up results. They finished with 44 points, only eight behind runners-up Boone and Greene County (52). Algona (96) dominated the meet.
"We had a number of events show improvement," WCHS head coach Tony Bussan said. "The team should get stronger and stronger."

Coleman put distance on the field on the third leg and Glenn left no doubt on the anchor, leading to a 20-second cushion on the field.
