WEBSTER CITY - Hannah Harfst turned in the first sub-50 round of the season for the Webster City girls' golf team yesterday at the Webster City Links, but it wasn't enough to get the team over the hump in a North Central Conference triangular.
Harfst withstood the bone-chilling conditions and whipping winds to post a nine-hole total of 48. The Lynx shot a 234 to finish behind meet winner Humboldt (193). Iowa Falls-Alden (235) was third.
Harfst's consistent round included two pars at the 99-yard par-3 first and 359-yard par-5 seventh. She also carded three bogeys during her best round of the season.
