IOWA FALLS - It may be time to buy stock in the Webster City boys' golf team.

The dividends haven't been this high in years.

After coming close to knocking off 2012 Class 3A state runner-up Clear Lake earlier this season, the Lynx got the job done against last year's 3A third-place finisher Humboldt yesterday afternoon at Highland Country Club.

Twin brothers Avery and Alec Fuhs, just freshmen, turned in stellar rounds to propel seventh-ranked (3A) WCHS to a 164 and two-shot victory over Humboldt (166). Iowa Falls-Alden (176) brought up the rear in the North Central Conference triangular.

"The team is really coming together now (and) is feeling confident now that we have beaten or been very close to beating several state tournament teams from last year," WCHS head coach Dave Brighton said. "Avery and Alec both had outstanding rounds (last night)."

Avery Fuhs recorded five pars and a birdie at the par-4 ninth hole on his way to a 38, as he stole the medalist honor from his brother and Humboldt's Christian Birdsell by one shot.
