Life is not about money, but strong financial skills do make life go more smoothly. An upcoming workshop series from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach focuses on the core money management skills that are the foundation for reaching financial goals.
"Your Money, Your Future begins April 8," said Barb Wollan, Extension Family Finance Specialist. "In this three-part course you'll learn how to make your money work for you." The course covers how to:
manage spending and saving,
use financial services effectively, and
take charge of credit.
The series will meet April 8, 15 and 22. All sessions are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton County Extension, 311 Bank St in Webster City. The course is free.
Pre-registration is requested by April 5. To register call Hamilton County Extension, 832-9597.
"When you have sound information and strong skills, you can make your money work for you and for your future. Mastering these core skills sets you up to accomplish your short-term and long-term goals, whatever they may be," Wollan said. "With sound financial management, you can be more financially secure."
Your Money, Your Future is sponsored by ISU Extension and Outreach in Hamilton County and by the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Project.
