Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City will host its sixth annual Easter Eggtravaganza on March 23, according to Marilyn Middleton, marketing coordinator.
Middleton said the 2012 event attracted 400 participants. Children, parents and grandparents are encouraged to stop by the commons area at the Independent and Assisted Living Apartments, 2414 Des Moines Street, from 10 a.m. until noon.
Two Easter egg hunts are scheduled - one at 10:30 a.m. for the 1 to 4 year olds and another at 11:30 a.m. for the 5 to 8 year olds. Children will have an opportunity to meet the Easter bunny and pose for a photo, Middleton said. Adults are urged to bring their cameras. Local 4-H members will be display their tame rabbits and a baby lamb. McMurray Hatchery will be donating one-day old, fluffy chicks to view and there will be Easter crafts for the children to make and take home.

Children attending the 2012 Easter Eggstravaganza had a chance to hold day-old baby chicks from McMurray Hatchery. Baby chicks, bunnies and lambs will also be featured at the 2013 event March 23.
Refreshments will be provided for everyone. There will be an Easter Bake sale with proceeds going to resident activities.
There is no charge for attending the Eggstravaganza.
