WCCT to read ‘Our Town’

Readers theater group to peruse classic Thornton Wilder play

March 8, 2013
The Daily Freeman Journal

The Webster City Community Theatre's readers theater will meet Sunday at 4:30 p.m. to read the classic "Our Town," by Thornton Wilder.

The play, which celebrated the 75th anniversary of its first performance on Feb. 4, follows the small town of Grover's Corners through three acts: "Daily Life," "Love and Marriage" and "Death and Eternity." Narrated by the stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, the audiences follow the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry and eventually die.'

Those attending the reading are invited to bring a snack to share and their own beverage.

For more information or to offer script ideas for future sessions, call Sue Heerema, 832-6515.
