Tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in the Kendall Young Library meeting room, the library will continue their upcycling craft series with book page letters.
Participants will use old book and magazine pages to transform cardboard into rustic decorations.
Rebecca Philipsen, who will lead the latest installment of the library's upcycling series, said she found the idea for the project online. Participants will use a stencil to craft their letter of choice and create a cardboard backing for it. Using old book and magazine pages, participants will roll those pages and glue them into place on the stencil. Philipsen said she provides guidance and the library provides the materials, but each participant brings their own touch to the decorations.
These letters are examples of what participants that go to the Kendall Young Library’s latest installment in their upcycling series can craft.
"It's an open-ended creative process that we just help people along the way with. If people have seen projects like this before, it's a great time to come out and try your hand at it. It's really fun," Philipsen said.
