Southfield residents and staff dressed in red Friday to support the American Heart Association Go Red for Women Day. The national campaign raises awareness that heart disease is the leading cause of death among women in the United States. Since Southfield is one of the largest employer of women in Webster City and the majority of residents living at Southfield are women, the topic is reviewed each year. A bulletin board lists characteristics of a high risk woman for heart disease, female heart attack symptoms and healthy lifestyles choices.
