JEWELL - Colin Lane was a 62 percent free throw shooter when he stepped onto Coach Jim Marsh Court Saturday night.

He probably had no idea his accuracy was going to take an 11-point bump by night's end.

Lane - 18 of 29 at the charity stripe prior to the game - made good on all 12 of his free throws en route to 18 points, as he led Belmond-Klemme to a foul line clinic and 76-66 non-conference victory over South Hamilton.

The Broncos (11-2) - who spent the first month of the season ranked in the top 10 (Class 1A) - connected on 23 of 24 free throws (96 percent) in the game and outscored the Hawks (7-5) by 20 points at the line. The visitors made 68.5 percent of their free throws entering the contest.

"After watching the video of the game, the (free throw discrepancy) was merited," South Hamilton head coach B.J. Terrones said. "They just did a better job than we did of controlling the basketball and then taking the ball to the basket under control."

Five players scored in double figures for Belmond-Klemme. Elijah Kinseth went off for 17, Court Christianson and Nathan Hildebrand both had 14 and Kody Smith finished with 10.
