The Hamilton County Crime Stoppers have announced that Webster City Federal Savings Bank will sponsor the TipSoft program in 2013.
"Webster City Federal's sponsorship of the TipSoft program will allow for anonymous tips to continue to be received by local law enforcement to aid in solving crimes throughout Hamilton County," said Terry Christensen, Hamilton County Crime Stopper Board President.
The Hamilton County Crime Stoppers is a program that involves the public, the media, and law enforcement in the fight against crime. It offers cash rewards for persons who furnish information that leads to the arrest and filing of criminal charges against offenders and to the capture of fugitives.
Webster City Police Chief Brian Hughes, left, and Terry Christensen, right, president of the Crime Stoppers, receive a check from Kyle Swon, Senior Vice President Webster City Federal Savings Bank to sponsor the TipSoft program.
"We chose to partner with the Hamilton County Crime Stoppers and sponsor the TipSoft program because it allows us to continue to make a positive impact in the communities that we serve in Hamilton County," said Kyle Swon, Senior Vice President Webster City Federal Savings Bank.
"We greatly appreciate Webster City Federal's support of the TipSoft program and for taking an active role in helping law enforcement throughout Hamilton County provide safer communities for our citizens," commented Webster City Police Chief Brian Hughes. "One of the biggest barriers for getting involved is anonymity. This program allows for us to receive valuable information to assist in solving crimes yet allows for the information provider to feel safe with getting involved."
Tips received through the TipSoft program are routed to Canada where they are legally scrubbed of the source's identity before they are then sent to proper local law enforcement.
There are four easy ways to report a crime while remaining completely anonymous:

The Hamilton County Crime Stoppers recently launched a new website - www.hcstopcrime.com - that provides an improved online visitor experience. In addition, the site contains information on tip submission along with quick links to download Android and iPhone TipSoft apps and features the Hamilton County Crime Stoppers 'Most Wanted' poster.
Hamilton County Crime Stoppers is a not-for-profit organization. It is funded by private donations and annual fund raising events; no tax dollars are involved. A community board of directors, made up of persons throughout the area, meets on a monthly basis to evaluate arrests and to decide on the size of the rewards to be paid up to $1,000.
The reward money is obtained through fund raising and donations from citizens and businesses. Reward tips are paid out based on the severity of the crime. Donations received are tax deductible.
