RANDALL - Randall City Council members introduced a new ordinance and passed the first reading when they met in regular session last week.

The ordinance addresses mowing grass at residential and vacant properties within the city limits. The second reading of the ordinance will be at the January council meeting.

In personnel matters, the council accepted the resignation of Gina Wheeler, parks building custodian, and hired Dave Middlestadt to take her place. Middlestadt will begin his new duties on Jan. 1.

Also, the council was informed that a new flag pole has been purchased and set in the town park. They learned a new light will be installed on the flag pole
