Honoring a soldier

December 10, 2012
The Daily Freeman Journal
A military escort accompanied the body of Sgt. Shawn Dugan home to Webster City on Friday. Dugan, 25, was serving in the United States Army in the 25 BSB, 1-25 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. He was killed in a traffic accident on Nov. 30. Whether a soldier dies in combat, or under other circumstances, the same tribute is accorded all active duty military personnel. Dugan had served tours in Iraq, sustaining injuries during his tour, and Afghanistan. His funeral service is today at 10:30 a.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
