Webster City area children had a chance to visit with Santa Claus Saturday as the Webster City Chamber of Commerce sponsored Santa's Workshop at city hall.

The Jolly Old Elf greeted children and parents as they arrived at city hall. He listened as children recounted their Christmas lists and asked questions about life at the North Pole and the reindeer. Each child also received a candy cane to take home as well.

Some children were a little shy around the man in the red suit.

Little Alexis Borkowski whispered her Christmas wishes to her mom. Jessica, who then relayed them to Santa. But Alexis felt brave enough to give Santa a hug before she left.

Aiden and Brice Hrnicek found safety in numbers and both climbed up on Santa's knees to pose for a photo.

In the council chambers, Santa's elves aka the chamber office staff led craft activities and served refreshments. Children were also able to decorate a Santa sugar cookie to take home with them.

Chamber officials deemed the event a success as there was a stead stream of children throughout the afternoon.
