The Webster City Middle School is working to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
A collection jar has been placed in each classroom at the middle school. Each homeroom is hoping to bring in at least $25. The funds will then be sent the money to the Red Cross. Every morning kids from the middle school fifth grade Project Explore class will count the money.
Project Explore representatives said anyone from the community who would like to contribute can send the donations to the middle school.
The students also encourage area residents to help by sending a tweet to #patchrebuilds. The Patch news organization will send $1 per tweet - up to $125,000 - to the relief organization Americares. Only one tweet per person is valid.
