WEBSTER CITY - Three area prep wrestlers will begin their seasons with bull's-eyes on their backs.
Webster City juniors Connor Larson and Dylan Fielder, and South Hamilton sophomore JD Rader all are ranked in the top 10 in their respective weight classes by The Predicament in the publication's first set of rankings.
In Class 3A, Fielder is ranked No. 2 at 182 pounds, while Larson is No. 8 at 170. In 1A, Rader is third-ranked at 120.
Fielder and Rader are both returning state tournament medal winners. Fielder - a two-time state qualifier - placed sixth at 182 in 2A in February, while Rader was sixth in the 1A 113-pound weight class.
Larson is a two-time North Central Conference champion; he surpassed 30 victories in both his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Southeast Polk (3A), West Delaware (2A) and Alburnett (1A) sit at the top of the team rankings.
The first set of team dual rankings by the Iowa High School Wrestling Coaches Association won't be released until sometime during the month of December.
