The financial-services firm Edward Jones recently was named to Iowa's Top 100 Workplaces 2012 listing, according to Tim Finucan. Edward Jones was named the No. 1 large company on the prestigious ranking.
The Des Moines Register teamed up with research partner WorkplaceDynamics of Exton, Pa., to rank the area's best employers. Of Iowa's Top 100 Workplaces for 2012, 20 were large companies, 35 were mid-sized companies and 45 were small companies, categorized by number of people they employ in Iowa. This was Edward Jones' first entry in this competition.
Iowa's Top 100 Workplaces program recognizes companies based on employee opinions about company leadership, compensation and training, diversity/inclusion, career development, family-friendly flexibility, and values and ethics. Edward Jones received special mention this year for its high score in direction, meaning associates rated the firm very highly in heading in the right direction.
Edward Jones has more than 225 branch offices all over Iowa. The firm is growing, adding branches and seeking new financial advisors who are interested in operating an entrepreneurial office with the support and benefits of one of the oldest and largest firms in the industry.
The Iowa's Top 100 Workplaces honor is the most recent in a series of important recognitions the firm recently received. For the 13th year, Edward Jones was named one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For in America" by FORTUNE magazine in its annual listing. The firm took the No. 5 overall spot in the FORTUNE ranking and was named to the No. 3 spot for large companies.
