Webster City Community Theatre will open its 2012-2013 season Friday night with the musical, "Don't Hug Me, I'm Pregnant."
The production is the fourth in series of "Don't Hug Me" productions, all of which have been offered at WCCT in the past few years.
In this installment, Gunner and Clara, the owners of a small bar located in Bunyan Bay in northern Minnesota, are expecting their first child in just a few weeks. However, when a huge snow storm - or tsnownami - hits Bunyan Bay, it appears as if Gunner may have to deliver the baby himself. Their friends, Bernice, who dreams of being on Broadway, and Aarvid, a slick karaoke salesman, arrive for the baby shower only to find Kanute, a local businessman, still hoping to win Bernice's hand in marriage.
Clara (Mary Sealine), Aarvid (Dan Corrow), Kanute (Wil Groves) and Gunner (Ken Theobald) perform a scene from “Don’t Hug Me, I’m Pregnant,” opening Friday at the Webster City Community Theatre.
The production features Mary Sealine and Ken Theobald as Clara and Gunner, Marcis Fritz as Bernice, Dan Corrow as Aarvid and Wil Groves as Kanute.
The musical will be presented Friday and Saturday, along with Nov. 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday and Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the WCCT box office, 1001 Willson Ave., weeknights from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
