WC?Public Works to drain hydrants

The Webster City Street Department has scheduled fire hydrant flushing to increase the life of the City's watermains. This flushing may temporarily cause some cloudiness or discoloration of the water in homes. Any discoloration of water or small particles of lime in water should last for a short period of time. This work will be starting about 7 a.m. today and will follow this schedule:

Monday All fire hydrants within the area South of Elm Street, West of Des Moines Street and North of Ohio Street.

Tuesday All fire hydrants within the area South of Second, West of Des Moines and North of Elm Street.

Wednesday All fire hydrants within the area West of Des Moines and North of Second Street. This will also include the area to Van Diest Supply.

Thursday All fire hydrants within the area North of Ohio, East of Des Moines and South of Elm Street to the Boone River. Including the area of the Wast Water plant and Street Department. Also, the area South of East Dubuque, East of Bell and South of the East/West High Street leg, including the Hamilton County Fair Grounds.

Friday All fire hydrants within the area South of Second, East of Des Moines and North of Elm Street West to the Boone River. Also, the area North of East Dubuque Street, West of Bell, North of the East/West leg of High Street to include the easement to Hillcrest Mobile Home Court.

Nov. 5 All fire hydrants within the area of East of Des Moines Street and North of Second Street. This is to include the White Fox to 210th to Des Moines Street loop outside the city limits.

Nov. 6 All fire hydrants within the area South of Ohio Street, West of the railroad tracks and East of Des Moines Street. Also, all fire hydrants south of Highway 20.

Nov. 7 All fire hydrants within the area South of Ohio Street, West of Des Moines Street and North of Highway 20.

Flushing operations should be completed by 4 p.m. each day. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen events, the flushing schedule may be adjusted.
