Tourism is topic for seminar set for Wednesday

Registrations due today for ‘How to Wow’

Today is the deadline to register for the next Webster City Chamber of Commerce-sponsored "From How to Wow" seminar series on Wednesday.

The seminar, "Embracing Tourism," will be held from 11:30am to 1 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1229 Kathy Lane. Organizers said the seminar will discuss how businesses and organizations can get more involved in tourism in Webster City, the impact of tourism on the state of Iowa and how other communities embrace tourism.

The panel of experts for the day will include the Shawna Lode, Iowa Tourism manager from the Department of Tourism; Ann Vogelbacher, director of Central Iowa Tourism Region and Vicki Mallory- Chamber executive from Algona.

"This will be a great learning experience for all businesses in Webster City," said Carrie Fitzgerald, Webster City Chamber of Commerce director.

Cost is for the Wednesday seminar is $10 for members, and $15 for non-members, which includes lunch. Those wishing to attend are asked to call or email reservations by Monday. Contact the Chamber office at 832-2564 or email Fitzgerald at
