The Daily Freeman Journal

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has been working with a grant from the Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau on a crackdown to reduce impaired drivers.

During the overtime grant hours and regular duty hours, the deputies stopped 1,532 drivers. 63 Drivers were charged with Operating While Impaired, and 129 drivers were cited for driving while revoked, suspended or without a license.

The Sheriff's Office will be starting a new grant in October with a continued effort to remove impaired drivers from Iowa highways.
