First Congregational UCC has been involved in implementing the Stephen Ministry program. Pastor Craig Blaufuss and Sharon Perry took special training to become leaders, teachers and mentors of the program. Thirteen members of the congregation have been commissioned as Stephen Ministers. Perry is a member of the Rotary Club, which built a sculpture of food as part of the Art in Boone County Sculpture contest in August, where she observed the other entries. She saw “Cross Print,” which was made by Tim Adams, right. She wanted to learn more about it so she contacted Tim. He explained the vision he had that inspired his sculpture. She found that it fit with the study of spirituality by the Stephen Ministers. Adams spoke to the group about the process of his vision during their retreat. He presented them with a schematic timeline of the process.
