DUNKERTON - The Northeast Hamilton volleyball team put together a 1-2 record on Saturday during the Dunkerton Invitational.
The Trojets (7-14) opened the tournament with a three-set victory over the host Red Raiders, 22-20, 17-21, 15-8. But they were unable to put up much of a fight in back-to-back two-set losses to Center Point-Urbana, 21-5, 21-13, and East Buchanan, 21-6, 21-7.
"The day started off really well, however it slowly slipped away from us during the (Center Point-Urbana) match," NEH head coach Kacey Pruismann said. "I was pleased with (the win over Dunkerton), especially considering it was our first match and the girls were coming off homecoming week with the dance the night before."
Freshman Andi Anderson blasted five kills in the win over Dunkerton, and she finished with nine on the day. Sarah Elm worked the net for eight kills, and Jennifer Jeffers and Molly Greenfield both finished with five.
Jeffers (14) and Anderson (12) paced the Trojets in digs. Kaylee Massman added nine, Jaidyn Timm had eight and Elm finished with seven.
Greenfield and Elm both dished out nine assists.
