OGDEN - South Hamilton fell behind, but never relented here last night. And by the time the final point hit the hardwood, the Hawks had their first victory.

Behind 12 service aces from Eliana Lowry, along with 10 digs, nine aces and six kills from freshman Alyssa Hegland, South Hamilton overcame a 2-1 deficit to top Ogden in five sets, 25-15, 21-25, 23-25, 25-15, 16-14.

"Our goal was to play fearless and to have fun, and I think that fearless part took us a long way," South Hamilton head coach Cindy Holmes said. "It was exciting to see the kids fight so hard for it."

Sarah Rudy also had a strong all-around night, as she posted 16 digs to go along with seven aces and six kills. Shea Van Langen added 11 digs.

Setters Carly Swenson and Mackenzie Busch doled out 17 and 15 assists, respectively.

Defensively at net, Tiffany Jacobson swatted five Ogden attacks. Lowry finished with three blocks.

South Hamilton (1-2) will compete in the South Central Calhoun Tournament on Saturday.
